The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is the international standard used to measure German language proficiency. It has six levels, from beginner (A1) to mastery (C2).

A1 Beginner Understand and use basic everyday expressions, introduce yourself, ask simple questions. 80–150 hours

A2 Elementary Communicate in routine situations, discuss family, shopping, work, and daily activities. 180–300 hours

B1 Intermediate Handle most situations while traveling, describe experiences, express opinions, and write simple texts. 350–450 hours

B2 Upper Intermediate Understand complex texts, communicate fluently in professional and academic settings, participate in discussions. 500–650 hours

C1 Advanced Use German effectively for university studies and professional work, understand demanding texts, write detailed reports. 700–900 hours

C2 Proficiency Speak and understand German almost like a native speaker, including idioms and complex language.

What does the German Language Course aim at?

The German Language course is specifically designed to make students learn to listen, speak, read, and write the language fluently making them eligible and comfortable to work in Germany.
